Ordinary cleaning for oiled floors
A few precautions and regular cleaning are useful for keeping your wooden floor in good condition over time.
For the daily cleaning of the floor, wash with only lukewarm water, not warm water, using a well-wrung soft cloth. We recommend adding a small amount of non-aggressive neutral soap, diluted in half a bucket of water, to add a dash of perfume to the rooms or to remove stubborn dirt. Washing with excessive water should be avoided due to the risk of stagnation together with the use of chemicals that could attack the surface finish. Lignum Venetia offers its customers a series of specific cleaning products that contain the same active ingredients as the oils used in production, so that each cleaning step is a care and nourishment for the wooden floor (see section the detergents).
Let us always bear in mind that wood is a natural material, alive and obviously softer than other materials, so for better maintenance we strongly recommend not to walk on wooden floors with dirty shoes that can leave scratches and even deep furrows. Do not use small armchairs/chairs equipped with hard plastic wheels that degrade the finish and also irreversibly affect the wood. We recommend replacing them with soft rubber wheels. For the same reason it is strongly recommended to place felt pads under all chairs, tables and other furniture equipped with supports. Pass regularly with a normal broom or with a soft bristled vacuum cleaner and/or with special antistatic cloths to prevent the accumulation of pebbles, crumbs and other debris that can affect the floor surface due to treading.
